Story Work for Communities

This program is taught by John and Susie O'Hair for 15 years!  John and Susie take small groups (Bible  Studies, Prayer Groups, etc)  through the process of beginning to share their stories in a community of grace;  to be seen and heard by sympathetic friends.  Most recently, they lead a group of 8 in Zambia through the program!    They have seen God's spirit move to bring healing and soothing to individuals within their community. 

The program is based on Potter's Wheel content, but has been modified to focus on our stories and the importance our story has on our lives, relationships, and communities.  Some topics that are covered in the course are:

• our identity as image bearers
• the effect of the fall
• the story in which we find ourselves
• philosophy of change
• desire and demand (idiot lights!)
• the human experience
• the enemy of our souls
• your narrative

Story Work is for everyone who loves Jesus and wants to dive into their relationships with others and with Jesus with greater intimacy and truth.

Story Work for Communities involves listening to the stories of others, both the pleasant parts and the really hard moments.  If you cannot listen to the stories of others or walk through the hard parts of your own story, then this program may not be for you quite yet.    If you have questions about this, please send them to us via the "contact us" link on the home page.  A member of the JCM team  will respond.
